LARS Schedule
We would like to provide you with an overview of what to
expect as far as the LARS (Language Arts, Reading, & Spelling) schedule.
The LARS book is divided up into 16 themes. Currently, we are planning on
spending 12 days for each theme. During the 12 days students will work on a
comprehension skill (making connections, visualizing, understanding characters,
learning viewpoints, inferences, asking questions, etc.), type of listening,
vocabulary, writing, fluency, and spelling. On day 1 students will take a
spelling pretest over the first set of spelling words and on day 5 they will
take the posttest over these words. On day 6 they will take another spelling
pretest over the second set of spelling words in the theme. On day 10 they will
take the posttest over these words. We will review the concepts of the theme on
day 11 and take the theme test on day 12. We will keep you informed if this schedule
changes.
*Please note that these days refer to our LARS days and have
nothing to do with our days 1-5 that refers to our specials schedule.
